Sage Industries: Site History
| About Us | Contact | Portfolio | Thoughts |

Welcome to my blog and portfolio. I write about standards compliant web design and anything else that comes to mind!

Sage IndustriesSage Designs, the concept of Archaic Sage, AKA Ian Brown was formulated a long time ago; however, it’s original form was something that is so vastly different to what it’s turned out to be, it’s just scary.

Today Sage Industries is the portfolio website for my works. My works are normally in the web design spectrum; however, I do work with forums and I have a passion for writing. Which is a good thing, especially keeping a site like this around.

Sage Industries was finally launched formally in late July early August of 2005, after taking nearly six months to find a layout that I was pleased enough with to use. The first layout was a liquid layout that allowed PC viewers from 640×480 screen resolution all the way up.

Sage Industries is designed for Firefox, the best browser for Windows on the Internet at the moment. However, it’s been tested in Internet Explorer 6, Opera and Mozilla, all on XP Home Edition. It’s coding compliant, as all websites that I code are coding compliant with the W3 standard. Which is another reason why it took so long to get here.

I’ve been through a series of content management systems for this site as well. I’ve looked over WordPress and I’ve even considered Mambo for this website; however, I settled for Textpattern as it has a great interface and it’s easily skinned. I can also add links where I want them to be, without hassle, like many other CMS’s.

So, that’s how we got here.
